Dear IIF Members,
NCTS is a ‘Center of Excellence’ of IIF founded
in 1988 as TSCC under Chairmanship of Late
D.V.Paranjpe. Later, Mr. Sham Arjunwadkar took
over the Chairmanship and continued.
Currently NCTS is serving Foundrymen by
conducting following activities -
• Replying to the Queries.
• Preparation of CDs on technical subjects
• Updating technical Data Base.
• Conducting Training Programs
• Assisting Cluster formation.
• Providing Technical Consultancy.
• Participating in Foundry Exhibition etc.
Considering present scenario; NCTS wishes to
expand its activities and as such it has formed
following groups :
The groups are :-
1. Metal Specific Groups -
a) CI & SG (CGI + ADI included )
b) Steels
c) Non ferrous (Al & Copper base alloys)
The task expected from the Group is to answer
the queries; prepare articles with proven
practices for publication in IFJ; Recommend and
if needed monitor consultancy services at the
respective Foundries.
2. Technology Group - Experts from
various fields of Foundry Technology
such as processes, materials, equipment,
instrumentation, management practices etc. with
knowledge of latest developments in the field
and who are not covered in the above group. The
group members will perform as stated above for
group 1 in addition they will also support for
new projects.
3. Monitoring Group - Helping NCTS in
preparation of Info-sheets, updating Technical
Data Base, Publishing help line in IFJ.
4. Software Solution group – The software
service providers are identified for various
needs of foundry practices. The group will
coordinate these activities & help
administration to provide the related services.
The new avenues of services will be identified.
We appeal to Esteemed IIF Members, who are
interested to work in any of these groups, to
inform us, their group of interest and their
expertise in that field. This will help us to
include their names in respective groups.
